Building Cardano's Future: My Journey as an ABC Cardano Tutor
Bridging the Gap: Addressing Africa's Cardano Developer Shortage Through Education
About This Experience
The African continent is on the brink of a blockchain revolution, and I've been privileged to play a small part in nurturing the next generation of Cardano developers. From March to June 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a mentor for the ABC (African Blockchain Championships) Cardano Tutoring program, working with passionate students across Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
My passion for blockchain technology, particularly Cardano, drove me to address the significant shortage of Cardano developers across Africa. The ABC hackathon preparation program presented the ideal opportunity to combine my technical expertise with my desire to educate and inspire the next generation of blockchain innovators.
Teaching Cardano development with Aiken to students from diverse backgrounds across four countries was both challenging and rewarding. Each session brought new perspectives and innovative ideas that pushed my own understanding of the Cardano ecosystem. What struck me most was the enthusiasm and dedication of these students – their hunger to learn and build solutions for real-world problems in their communities was truly inspiring.
This experience reinforced my belief that education is the key to blockchain adoption in Africa. By empowering local developers with Cardano knowledge, we're not just building technical skills; we're building the foundation for a more inclusive and decentralized future across the continent.

Community Impact
By mentoring aspiring Cardano developers across Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, I helped lay the groundwork for a more robust blockchain ecosystem in Africa. This cross-border educational initiative proved that when given the right tools and guidance, African developers are eager to build decentralized solutions that address real challenges in their own communities, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive blockchain future on the continent.
